Tim Beels & Sam Helms
As some of you may know Sam and Tim were best of friends. They both passed away after a long battle with Cancer. Both Men were a pillar of strength for SCRC , their families and the community.
Originally the Macomb Chapter used to host a Memorial Run in Memory of Tim Beels, our Founder. At around the same time the North West Ohio Chapter would have a Memorial Barbecue in Memory of their Founder, Sam Helms. In 2004 both Chapters combined these events to celebrate these two outstanding men. Now we all meet in Napoleon, Ohio for a Memorial Run and Barbecue that has grown with each year. The event, known as "The Helms Beels Memorial Run" is a Charity Run and Feast to raise funds for the St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
